Times Are a Changing
Times are changing. I know, you already realize that. But we forget, we go to work and put in an honest day's effort, come back tomorrow and do it again. This is great and the way it should be but are you looking for ways to improve, better your processes, provide a better environment for your team?I was recently at a local business I haven't been at in several years. The whole experience was better than I've ever remembered it to be in the past. Way better. The level of communication they provided before, during, and after the sale was only possible through newer technology. Stuff that was simply not available 5 years ago. The face to face contact was also more pleasant and welcoming than it had been in the past.I was impressed and it both challenged me and gave me hope. The challenge was in the way I could subconsciously tell I was comparing my company against their's. How well are we doing? Are our customer's impressed? Have we tried anything new in the last 5 year?Hope came from knowing that while we may not be perfect there is no better time to start perfecting our systems than now. Not next year or next quarter. Now. Because while years ago this company was nothing special, they now have a great system and it is 'wowing' customers. So if they can improve over the years why not I? The answer is not a trick question by the way, you can improve. There is one big catch however, you have to actually want improvement and be willing to invest the time to make it happen.I will say if you're not on the lookout for newer, simpler, bigger, better, more efficient ways of doing things you're probably about to get trampled by your competition. Trust me, they're out there and they're hungry, just like you should be.Question: What's one area that you know needs improvement but you just haven't made it happen yet?
